BOOK MEME
I was having a look at Cricket's Hearth blog and saw this Book Meme.
Here are the rules.
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag some people & post a comment here once you post it to your blog, so I can come see.
So here goes:
I smiled from ear to ear, as I jumped into her arms and held her tightly. As she ran her hand through my hair, I began to cry. Mother cried too, and I began to feel that my bad times were finished.
This book and the ones that follow it are truly inspiring ! If you haven't read them, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease do!
A Child Called IT - Dave Pelzer
His brother Richard Pelzer has also written 2 books which are just as good!
As for tagging 5 people, I would like to tag 5 people participating in Meme Monday who have not already participated in making a Book Meme. So, if you are reading this and haven't done it....give it a go and let me know so I can come check it out :o)

1. Syd from Singlesupermama - she is a very special friend that looked after me when I moved to Seattle when I was about 15. We went to the same school together for a few months until I moved back to England - I love her! She is SINGLE and she is SUPER! She is a fantastic mummy and so so funny - check out her blog!
2. Pam from Random Thoughts - I really enjoy her blog, she is random just like me and very down to earth and honest. She says it how it is and I love that. She leaves lovely comments on my posts which really cheer me up and she chose me as one of her top 5 which I think is just fab seen as she has so many to choose from :o) ooooh, and she is really helpful with computery kinda stuff and all my random questions!
3. Melanie from Livin With Me - She is also a really helpful chick and we seem to have lots in common. She has cool stuff on her blogs that I keep pinching - I like all ther little quizzes and memes and if if wasn't for Melanie and her Meme Monday I wouldn't have met all these other cool bliggy bloggy people.

CURIOUS AS A CAT
I saw this over at Skittle's Place.....
1. Of all the people you know, whose name suits them the best?
Beanie (one of my best buddies) Her name is Jane really but I call her Beanie. It used to be Janey Bean and then just ended up as Beanie - she IS Beanie - it just suits her.
2. Describe what you think a creature from outer space might look like.
Lime green with a big oval head with huge blue eyes. Little ears on tentacles (tentacles not testicles) ! A cute little button nose and a cheeky little smile but no teeth! All it would say was "meek meek meek meek" and hug people. He also runs everywhere extremely fast! Don't ask me where all that came from - randomness at it's best!
3. If you could control one aspect of your death--except the timing--what would you do?
I would make sure I didn't burn to death - I have a thing about being in a fire - I DON'T want to be in a fire - I don't want to melt!
4. What is the largest amount of money you have earned in one day?
About £160 I think. Double time on a bank holiday :o)
5. Show and Tell - What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
It makes me think - Where do they all get changed? and do they have clothes on under their red robes? How often do they shave their heads? Are they all men? and how nice that they are all coming together and praying (I think they are praying) unless they are doing pilates???????? THE WORLD IS WONDERFUL AND DIVERSE :o) Oh, and if I was one of them I would be hoping the dude in front of me washed his feet LOL ;o)
You can play this at Curious As A Cat.

Meme Monday #2
Friday, 7 March 2008
Say What?!
I saw this over on Melanie's blog (yep, I seem to get everything off Melanie's blog - but she has good stuff) ;o) I was gonna save it till Monday but then I will get all confused with linking and stuff so I'm doing it now so I do it right :o)
This is how it works:
1. Post these rules on your blog.
2. Just list 10 things that won’t likely ever come out of your mouth.
3. High-five (or ‘tag’) any amount of people to do the same on their blog.
4. Then come back here to Lifesong and let me know that you did it.
So, here are 10 things you will never hear me say:
1. Yummy, more cheese please.
2. Not tonight honey, I have a headache.
3. I prefer having pale skin.
4. I'm happy with my weight.
5. I'm tipsy, I know my limits so no thank you, I don't want anymore wine.
6. I love to exercise - let's go jogging.
7. I'm NOT addicted to blogging!
8. There is no way I could fanny around on my computer for most of the day!
9. I can't wait to go back to work.
10. I'm not really into planning and organising - I like to just go with the flow.
Friday's Feast #1
Appetizer
If you could be any current celebrity for one whole week, who would you want to be?
Briteny Spears, so I could get myself the support and help that I needed to get better and get my kiddies back! (I just wanna give her a hug and tell everyone to give her a break and leave her alone - she is poorly bless her)
Soup
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone?
5 - I prefer text or email - I can explain myself so much better in writing - I get all discomboobilated sometimes if I am trying to stand up for myself and be assertive. Give me a pen or a keyboard and I'm SOOOOOOOO much better :o)
Salad
Name a charitable organization to which you have donated (or would like to).
Daisy's Dream - I did a run for them and raised quite a bit of money. They support children who have lost their mums or dads.
Main Course
What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month?
Chicken Korma
A few people have said they have never heard of this so thought I better elaborate - I think it is more common over here in England than it is in the USA. It is chicken in a coconut and almond sauce (I could just have the sauce to be honest) with pilau rice and a chapati which is kind of like a flour tortilla. It is an indian dish and is absolutely scrummy. I ate this almost every day for over a month when I was pregnant. I had awful morning sickness and for some strange reason it was the only thing I could eat that didn't make me wanna puke :o)
Dessert
Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year?
Nope (and if I get it now I am going to blame this blog)
Check out Friday's Feast to visit more participants.

Back On It - Update
OK, it is 23:47 and I should be in bed....AGAIN ! But, as usual I am addicted to this silly computer ARGH :o(
Anyways, I did NOT drink my 4 glasses of water. I did drink 2 glasses of diet sprite (does that count?) and I did NOT eat my 2 portions of fruit and veg (oh hold up, I did have sag aloo in with my chicken korma curry so that is 1 portion and oh hold up some more as there is also potatoe in sag aloo so that is 2 - wooooooooooo hooooooooooo) .....BUT, I didn't eat any cake, biscuits or chocolate (choc milk doesn't count right?) so all in all I didn't do 2 bad LOL
Anyway....na night XXXXXXXX
Thankful Thursday #3
Here is this weeks Thankful Thursday, I know it is only Wednesday night but I just had to share something SO SO amazing :o)
I am thankful this week that Tricia has finally got to hold her beautiful baby daughter for the first time. Check out Nathan's blog to see the amazing video and pics - get the tissues first though :o)
Confessions Of A CF Husband: My Child
Are You A Cheapskate?
I saw this on Melanie's blog so thought I'd give it a go.
You Are Not a Cheapskate |
When it comes to money, you're very fair. You're generous when you can be, and you never cheat anyone out of what they deserve. If you have the money, you enjoy splurging. But you never overspend. |
Laughing :o)
Check out the other new pics on my other blog - The Growing years.
Award For My Buddie
I am giving an award to my very special buddie Syd. Unbeknown to her, she got me into this whole blogging thing. I saw her blog and was addicted to reading it and I thought...I WANT ONE! ....the rest is history - so THANKS syd - I love ya XX
Check out her blog over at Single Supermama - she is so FUNNY!
Back On It - One tiny step at a time
OK, so I need to sort this diet stuff out. I need to do some exercise, I just need to get rid of some of this flabber labber!!!! So, I decided this morning that I am going to set small goals each morning and then TRY my best to stick to them. Some of you will probably think that setting myself a goal to drink 4 glasses of water today is rubbish as you are meant to drink 8 BUT seen as I can quite easily go a whole week, yes a whole week without drinking ONE glass, that would be a BRILLIANT achievement for ME.
So, little steps and then maybe I won't bodge them up and then EAT cos I've got all fed up with not doing what I said I was going to do - am I making sense?
Anyway, today's targets:
1. Drink 4 glasses of water
2. Eat 2 portions of fruit or veg (if anyone knows how to measure how much a portion is for one of the "5 a day" things pleeeeeease let me know)
3. Don't eat any cakes, biscuits or chocolate
My new bloggy friend Melanie is also trying to diet - check her page out too.
As for my exercise dilemma - do I join a gym (scared that I will pay that monthly fee, go for 3 months and then not bother going and still be paying THAT monthly fee for the rest of the year....AGAIN) OR, do I get the MY GYM from under the bed and actually USE it.....OR, do I get the keep fit dvd out and jump up and down in my lounge.....OR, do I stick Loola in her pushchair and walk to the shops (danger as shops have food) ????????????????? What to do, What to do??????????????? Argh!
Wordless Wednesday #1
I know there are words on this but they are not MY words so is that OK ? ;o)

Famous! :o)
I got this off Melanie's blog and thought I'd give it a go..........
The title of this first magazine says it all - it goes with this picture of Little Loola perfectly - just ignore the bits about couples and weddings ;o) Then the next one is Moi - it was a few years back but it is still MOI ;o)
Give it a go yaself over at MagMyPic.com.
Sanguinello
This is my new fave drink - it is sooooooooooooooooo yummy - looks like something a vampire should be drinking but tastes damn scrummy ;o)
Meme Monday

OK, So I'm joining Meme Monday where we save up our memes and awards and post them on Mondays. Then I go over to Melanie's Blog and sign Mr. Linky so that we can all visit each other.
This is the first time I have ever been tagged and I'm really chuffed - thanks Melanie :o)
This meme is called Kind Fives and you have to list five kind things you do for yourself. List five kind things you do for your closest friend, partner or child and list five kind things you have done for a stranger. You then have to Tag five people.
So, here goes.............
Five kind things things I do for myself:
1. I do my nails every 2 weeks, I don't actually have any REAL ones so I use stick on jobs but they do the trick and make me feel much more attractive and I get lots of compliments on how nice my nails are. My reply to those compliments is usually "Thanks, they are FAKE" as I'm rubbish at lying!
2. I make time for my friends and family - spending time with them makes me smile :o)
3. I get quite a few early nights as I need sleeeeeeeeeeeep.
4. I've started to do my shopping online.
5. I make my home nice.
Five kind things I do for my Little Loola:
1. I tell her I love her all the time.
2. I play silly games with her and make her laugh.
3. I have built up a little library of books over the last few years in preparation for when I can read stories with her. I even bought kids books before I even knew I was pregnant. I know - I'm a bit weird ;o)
4. I snuggle up with her on my chest and we have naps together (not sure that is kind to her or to me as I love it) :o)
5. I pay a little bit into her trust fund EVERY month even though I'm a single mummy on benefits - every little bit counts I reckon.
List five kind things I have done for a stranger:
1. Invited them to live with me at my mums (I was 17 at the time and the stranger had nowhere to live - we are still real good friends to this day and she is obviously no longer a stranger).
2. Volunteered my time - I'm looking into this again right now as I want to do something "useful" again.
3. Smiled :o) (This one was on Melanie's list too but I have it listed as one of my LIFE GOALS that I wrote years ago) A smile is catching and brightens up EVERYTHING!
4. Commented on their blog if I thought it was good or amusing.
5. Rushed out and helped the delivery man when he fell up the curb outside my kitchen window - poor guy scrapped all his leg up :o(
Five people I tag:
1. Makimeji
2. Pam
3. My special friend SingleSuperMama
I am trying to get another 2 ;o)

Happy Mothers Day!
Guess what, Guess what!!! Little Loola said "Mama" for the first time today! She was not very well last night and had a temperature so Nana and I went over to Daddy's house to collect her (she was staying the night with him). He said he thought she had said "Mama" a few times that night while she was a bit tearful but this morning she definitely confirmed it - while changing her nappy she got a bit upset and looked at me and said "Mama Mama" - OH MY HEART MELTED! What a perfect gift for Mothers Day!!!!!!!!

Flaunt It Friday #1
Right, I'm new to this but I like it so I'm gonna join in. Before anybody says anything, yes I know it is a Thursday and I should be doing this on a Friday but what the hell ;o)
Flaunt the one word or phrase that best describes your “real life” over the past week.
Mine is: What Goes Around Comes Around
Sometimes people that treat you like crap get what's coming to them in the end without you having to do a single thing. Just let things be, don't stress or worry over it because......what goes around comes around!
However, when this does happen, I end up feeling sorry for them even though it is their own fault! Again....too much empathy!! LOL
